The Already Rebellious Child

This morning I felt my stomach tightening in the normal way as I sneezed.

Twice.

Now, if I were living in someone else's uterus, I can't imagine it being very comfortable having them squish me like that. Especially if I were trying to sleep.

So, I said "sorry" to try to make it up to her.

That was my attempt at being sympathetic and nice.

Turns out, when I woke her up with my natural bodily functions, she decided that she would start kicking at my stomach to try to make me uncomfortable and lose all the food that I had been eating all night.

Which was nothing.

Luckily I'm a master dry heaver.

I sense a child with her mother's sense of rebellion already. 21 weeks down, an eternity to go.

Oh, poor Mary! Ugh...morning-sickness (or all-day-sickness which was the case for me) is the WORST! poor Mary! I tried everything to feel better (ginger, accupressure bands, medication, saltines, etc.) and I think what it was was that there was too much iron in my prenatal vitamin. I have heard that's often what it is for women. Good luck! I hope your baby doesn't rebel any more.

I don't know why sneezing would make her squirm. Unless you got her with some spray... that's always uncomfortable.

cute story, but i'm sorry you're still sick! it's all going to be worth it when that baby girl starts rebelling OUTSIDE of you, right? :)

Oh no...you still haven't gotten over morning sickness? Did they give you any zofran?

um, you were never a smidget as rebellious as this stinkin' fetus of yours. she better be worth what she's putting you through! (just kidding, I guess it's possible she's not making you sick on purpose. or even that she's not even aware that she's making you sick. I hadn't heard of that excess iron theory... hmmmm...) anyway, you are a superhero and already a proven supermom already.

Elise--yes. I do have Zofran. It's the only thing that's kept me sane thus far. :)

My goodness, funny baby girl. Take it easier on your mamma. I love that you said "sorry" after sneezing. Ha ha
