A few more details for those interested:

I went into labor on my own on Saturday about noon. By 2pm, my contractions were less than 5 minutes apart, and so we took off to the hospital. By the time we got there, I was dilated to almost 6 cm., so they checked me in upstairs, and gave me an epidural. After that, it was smooth sailing. The whole experience was wonderful and just perfect. It was faster and smother than I imagined it would be, and I love this beautiful little girl more than I thought imaginable. Looking at my own baby pictures, little Millie looks pretty familiar. My hair was almost exactly the same color, thickness and length. And right now, I'm feeling like I could make a showing on the Biggest Loser. 13 lbs lost in 3 days could probably compete, right?

Jack

I didn't start watching 24 until last season, so I never saw how Jack Bauer interacted with his wife, but I can't imagine that they had a very good relationship.

I mean, not only is he always the only choice, but also, he never has any time,

AND he can't end any conversation normally.

Just a thought.

Okay, one more thing: for those who are still waiting to hear, yes, I am a day over-due and no, the baby hasn't come yet. But have you seen the snow? I would stay where it's nice and warm too!

That Fateful "A"

My love taught me a valuable lesson. I've been speaking incorrectly my whole life (as often as I actually used medical vocabulary). I've been saying that I'm two centimeters dialated when in reality, I'm only two centimeters dilated. For some reason, dialate seems to sound better--like I'm progressed further than I actually am or something. Too bad. Still, with only a week and a half 'til our baby's due date, I guess I can be patient until I'm the patient.

Ba da bum.

Oh, and sorry that I have nothing interesting to blog about these days except my changing belly. There's not much else that I can think about these days... except the fact that 24 is back on. That should keep me occupied for the next few weeks.

Okay, Okay, I get it!

I realize it's been much too long since I've posted. The truth of the matter is, with my love home from school for two whole weeks, I haven't done much of anything that I would normally do. But, today is a momentous occasion and I have to write about it.

Happy New Year everyone. When I was young and partying like it was 1999, I couldn't picture what it would be like to live in the year 2010. Well, here we are. This year, my new year's resolution is to have a baby and survive.

Our baby is officially full-term today. Yup, she could be born any time in the next 3 weeks (or maybe 4 if she's late). I can't wait to meet her! But, until I do, I'm going to spend all my time sleeping and doing things that may never be easy to do again...like going to the library, and cooking dinner.
