That Fateful "A"

My love taught me a valuable lesson. I've been speaking incorrectly my whole life (as often as I actually used medical vocabulary). I've been saying that I'm two centimeters dialated when in reality, I'm only two centimeters dilated. For some reason, dialate seems to sound better--like I'm progressed further than I actually am or something. Too bad. Still, with only a week and a half 'til our baby's due date, I guess I can be patient until I'm the patient.

Ba da bum.

Oh, and sorry that I have nothing interesting to blog about these days except my changing belly. There's not much else that I can think about these days... except the fact that 24 is back on. That should keep me occupied for the next few weeks.

Belly posts rock! And soon you can post about why your belly is no longer belly-ish! :)

I'm not a linguist, but I think that's a pretty-common linguistic phenomenon (i.e., when a short-a sound sneaks forward to color a difficult vowel-consonant transition). Something similar happens in Hebrew so often that it has become an institutionalized part of the language: a "furtive patach" (the coolest name ever by the way). The furtive patach is why we call him Noah, instead of Noha.

Oh, our love and good-luck wishes go with you during these last few days, by the way :).
