This weekend, we enjoyed General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It seems that I always have goals to be super prepared for conference--not only spiritually, but physically as well. I ALMOST met my goal this year.
We had family and friends from out of town staying with us. This meant I had to be extra prepared. I cleaned the house really well on Thursday and Friday and had all the meals planned. I did easy/crock pot/freezer meals to serve people. I am so glad that I planned ahead, as I was able to focus and not stress about things that don't matter that much (but I always seem to worry about, of course). And in the process, I found a really yummy new chicken recipe (for tacos/taco salad) as well as a new pumpkin bread recipe that I altered and love (yes, I realize it's not pumpkin bread season. Blame it on baby #2). Double success!
The only possible crisis of the weekend (besides the child with a fever and accidentally dozing off for a minute. Did Elder Holland really speak this afternoon? Blast! Blame it on baby #2 again.), was when 10 people came over for dinner instead of the 4 that I had planned for. Well, again, I was blessed as there was enough, plus one bite left over. It wasn't feeding five thousand, but I had only cooked two chicken breasts. I was pretty impressed by my conference miracle.
And, to update those who've been wondering:
My phone has still not been resurrected, but I'm going to give it a week in the rice. I'll let you know.
And yes, I'm feeling much better this pregnancy. The first 15 weeks or so were just as bad as the last pregnancy, but it's started to ease up (HUGE BLESSING), and I am almost ready to party like it's 1999 again.

Thanks for making this weekend so great, Mary!
Thank you for sacrificing so we could stay with you and use you like a hotel. I'm glad your chicken held out and I'm glad you only dozed off twice! Good thing you can re-watch as often as you like!
First of all, you are hilarious.
I say your dinner story was surely a Conference Weekend miracle.
And pregnancy or no pregnancy, I love pumpkin bread year round. What is better!?
