Don't Tell My Mom

We woke up late this morning.... Which explains why we were rushing around getting breakfast and lunch/showers/mediocre car scraping/my love eating in the car/my realization about 6 blocks from our house:

me: Oh. I shouldn't be driving.
my love: why not?
me: ummm.....I'll tell you when you're older.
my love: Oh no. You don't have your contacts in do you!?!??!??!!!?!

*pause*

Now, seeing and I haven't been friends since before I can remember. It was like good vision was the team captain, and I was always the one waiting and to be picked for the team, but never made the cut. Seriously. I had to wear a pirate patch taped to my glasses for a year or two. I think that added a lot to my awkward stage....

*play*

me: well....no. But you have better than perfect eyes so it's good that you're in the passenger seat.

hehe. Not a good rationalization as he was dropped off for school a few minutes later. Needless to say, I'm glad for the aimless wanderers walking around Provo this morning, (and for myself) that somehow, I made it home without killing someone.

Lasik is the answer to all your problems. Good thing you didn't hit any small children. They usually go undetected to fuzzy eyed drivers.

I've done that too! It's even better to sweep the floor without contacts in on a Saturday morning. The floor looks spotless! But that was all before I got LASIK. I hope it's in your future too. :)

MAAAARY!!! That's SCAAAARY! Scary Mary :) Don't you have the same prescription as I do, just opposite? Like +6 in one eye and 4.75 in the other? Hopefully all the pedestrians were really far away :) I wouldn't be able to see past the steering wheel without mine!

Yeah, I'm practically blind without my contacts, and I KNOW I would've hit something within a few seconds of starting the car. Except that it wouldn't happen because I can't even come downstairs without corrective lenses. I don't think I'd have been able to find my way to the car... You're crazy, and I'm glad you're still alive.
